Recognising the ongoing and increased uncertainty that coronavirus (COVID-19) is causing around the world, our highest priority is the health and well-being of our guests and employees. With that in mind, we wanted to update you on the actual situation and actions we are taking in response to the outbreak and hysteria centred around coronavirus.
Currently while travel to Vanuatu is safe and Vanuatu has recorded NO cases of COVID-19, Ocean Blue has decided to temporarily cease operation until 30th April 2020. The decision has been made based on the elevated and restrictive border controls implemented by Australia, New Zealand and Vanuatu.
Supporting your plans
We know that flexibility is what our guests may be looking for right now. So, we are waiving change fees for existing and new bookings for stays between 9 March and 30 April 2020. This will allow you to reschedule your trip for later in 2020 or 2021. For bookings beyond April 30, 2020 we will continue to monitor the situation and may extend the change policy if required.
The facts about flying
Based on the information received from Qantas, Virgin and Air Vanuatu, due to high cleaning standards and hospital-grade air filtration systems, the risk of catching a virus on an aircraft is low. Inflight transmissions have not been a feature of this outbreak.
As the US Centres for Disease Control says, “the cabin air environment is not conducive to the spread of most infectious diseases”.

Health while flying
Medical experts have confirmed that Coronavirus is NOT an airborne virus, so it can’t be spread through the cabin conditioning system. We ensure our aircraft have the highest air quality and have HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters installed in our aircraft filtration systems. (www.qantas.com)
